Halloween Parties

What do introverts love more than anything?  That's right…It's parties.

God, do I hate parties!!!  I like hanging out with friends, but the whole social gathering is not something I look forward to nor do I enjoy staying a long time.

Don't get me wrong.  I love my friends. I'm just a little intimidated.

I was recently at my theatre's Halloween Party (www.nationalcomedy.com) and I decided that this year I'm not going to wimp out and come without a costume.  My wife and I went to Disneyland and we bought at $20 worth of clothes, which came to a cheesy hat and Mickey gloves.

The key to my success at parties is my wife.  My wife is much more outgoing than I am.  I can socialize vicariously through her.  Plus I love hearing, "Thanks for coming to my party, your wife is so much fun to have."

I was having a pretty good time, and then I ran into some of my poker buds and we talked poker for about an hour.  That's when everyone started making fun of me.  Apparently, if I'm really into a certain subject I can lock in on that and neglect everyone else.  Oh well.  I'm just a little shy and I like being in comfortable situations.

Is that so wrong?
